Abount Being a MSAC Volunteer

Hello,

The Manitou Springs Arts council thanks you for your interest in volunteering with our organization. The Arts Council was established in 2004 to serve the artists and community of Manitou Springs. We support the visual, performance, holistic, literary and culinary disciplines. Our mission is to preserve, promote and pursue the arts by involving artists, art patrons, volunteers and other benefactors in supporting this vital community.

You have expressed an interest in, or perhaps already volunteered your time with our organization. We would like to find out more specifically, how you see your involvement in the arts community. We would prefer to match people's skills and interests to the areas where their expertise would be best used.

Here are some of the areas the Arts Council needs help from volunteers:

1. Volunteer Co-ordinator: A person who can keep our database of volunteers current and assign tasks and responsibilities as needed throughout the year. This person would interface with the council, take direction and follow up as needed. This is a key position
2. Web support: Knowledge of web design and maintenance neccessary. Ability to update web page in a timely manner
3. Basic Accounting and QuickBooks: Someone who could spend 1-2 hours a month with our treasurer to teach them Quick Books and basic financial reporting
4. Grant writing support. Someone with Grant Writing backgroun to help our Board Grant writer
5. Event organizer
6. Able bodied workers to help with set up and break down of fundraisers and events
7. Food & Beverage organizer for events
8. Media contact: Someone to help with press releases
