Call to Artists: Sculpture Needed for Elementary School

Lana Sinclair is seeking sculpture entries for a few pedestals outside the Manitou Springs Elementary School on Pawnee Avenue. The artwork will be installed near the building between the Juniper bushes. Stipends, if any, will depend on sponsorship support.

The artwork must be high quality, durable, and able to withstand varying weather conditions (including intense sunlight, freezing temperatures, and all forms of precipitation). Cement pedestals will incorporate a steel plate for mounting the artwork. The narrowness of the space, the distance from the building to the sidewalk, imposes a 4-foot maximum on the depth of the piece. The background will be the school building itself; that is, windows and light-colored brick.

Proposals should include the following:

Artist’s name, address, phone number and e-mail address; a description, drawing or photo of the artwork from different angles, with size, material and dimensions; a description of the installation method and maintenance specifications.
